Mischa Appel is a Dutch graphic and editorial designer living and working in Utrecht (NL). In the summer of 2018 he graduated from the University of the Arts Utrecht with a BA in Graphic Design. In 2020 he co-founded Graphic Design studio HouseTMM. HouseTMM creates engaging work across digital and physical media through an informed approach to graphic design, branding, art-direction and editorial design.
In addition to his activities at HouseTMM he’s a lecturer in typography and graphic design at the Graphic Design department of the University of the Arts Utrecht. Next to this he is a founding partner of WHATCHAMACALLIT, an Utrecht-based collective where art, design and experience intertwine.
His visual approach is characterized by the use of a bold graphic language that is grounded in layered and geometric compositions, use of colour and analog printing techniques such as screen- and Riso printing. His work is richly influenced by the Dutch traditions in Graphic Design. For autonomous inquiries mail firstname.lastname@example.org, for business inquiries mail email@example.com.
